Release Notes

Publish feature allows you to share your voice notes publicly on a page hosted as a subdomain you choose. Your followers can also subscribe to your publication. This is designed as a personal space to host and showcase your audio content with the easiest setup ever.

To publish a voice note, go to Share → Publish → Select Publication.

We’ve introduced timestamps and speaker labeling for your meeting recordings. Each speaker is identified (Speaker 1, Speaker 2, etc.), so you’ll always know who said what and when.

This feature is enabled for all meetings, giving you structured, readable transcripts right out of the box. It’s been one of our most requested features, and with this update, Voicenotes has become the most affordable and intuitive app for recording any kind of meeting.

We’ve replaced the old Streaks UI with a new calendar view, giving you an intuitive way to browse notes by date and track your habits. This popular request is shipped first on mobile apps. Use the calendar to select a date and view your notes from that day.

Tap “View Highlights” to see key moments from the month. At the bottom of the calendar, you’ll still see your note-taking streak and ranking: “You are on a 15-day note-taking streak. You rank 111 out of 200k note-takers.”

We’ve introduced Team Channels to help you organize and share notes within specific groups in your team. For example, if your team is called Alpha, you might create channels like Growth, General, or Design.

Channels appear alongside tags, letting you share notes with the right teammates and keep discussions focused. Just head to your team settings to create and manage channels, and join relevant channels to collaborate actively.

Tags are automatically applied to new notes if you have added a tag description, requiring no extra effort on your part.

We’ve deployed the “Suggest a Fix” feature, allowing you to quickly modify any transcript through simple text or audio prompts (e.g., “Change ‘Joy’ to ‘Joey’ and fix punctuation”).

We’ve revamped the Custom Prompt experience to give you more flexibility and control. There are two tabs now: Custom and Saved. You can also add titles to the saved custom prompts, edit the prompts, or delete them.

You can now choose to display a concise summary for recordings over 5 minutes, instead of the full transcript.

We increased the recording limit from 40 minutes to 90 minutes on the web, giving you more flexibility for longer sessions. As always, you can continue recording longer notes, but they will be processed as subnotes under the main note every 90 minutes.

We introduced the Meeting Report in Creations, which transforms any note into a structured, in-depth report—complete with title, bullet points, and more. This feature isn’t just for meetings: you can apply it to any note for a clearer, more detailed summary.

You can now include image attachments when generating AI Creations. Simply capture a screenshot(s) or any image and let AI summarize it, create a blog post, or generate other creations.

You can now Translate a transcription by selecting the feature from the respective note’s Creations menu. Simply pick a language from the provided list—or use the search filter to find the one you need—and enjoy an instant translation.

We introduced the Share feature that lets you share your notes instantly. Send them via email or a direct link—perfect for meeting recaps, brainstorming with others, or any other collaboration you can imagine.

We significantly improved Ask AI and its related features, cutting response times from 10–12 seconds down to 3–5 seconds. We also enhanced the notes retrieval process, ensuring more accurate and contextually relevant answers for your notes.

Todoist integration is now live! You can quickly create To Do Lists out of your notes and get the TDL seamlessly updated into your Todoist inbox.

Our users asked if Voicenotes can record meetings, and we now say yes! With a brilliantly simple toggle, you can now switch between recording Notes and Meetings.

The new Meetings mode allows you to record longer sessions, generate transcripts with timestamps, identify speakers, and create detailed summaries effortlessly.

New updates for iOS and Android are made live with the original icon reinstated, updated pricing, small improvements, and other bug fixes.

We’ve discontinued the Lifetime Plan (Believer Plan) for new users. Initially launched as a limited-time offer for the first 1,000 users, it quickly became a hit, with people even gifting it to friends, partners, and yes, toddlers!

After onboarding our first 100,000 users and much love from the community, we’ve decided to retire the LTD plan to focus on our ambitious roadmap and upcoming features. Existing Believer subscribers will continue to enjoy incredible value for their early support.

In its place, we’ve introduced new pricing and an exciting, heavily discounted launch offer for the Yearly plan.

The old version of the Voicenotes logo is back! After redesigning, we heard from users across social media, reviews, and emails asking for the original logo to be returned. So, we ran a Twitter poll—and as one user put it, the Original logo won by a landslide. By popular demand, it's here to stay!

We launched the widgets, and users are loving how they make it so effortless to take more notes on the go.

We introduced the new red Voicenotes logo, designed to capture what we called the 'record' vibes, to a mixed reception. We originally designed this as an icon for the Watch as we thought the previous white background was not quite noticeable.

WearOS app went live on the Play Store and users can enjoy quick, hands-free note-taking directly from their wrist—no phone required.

Our users collectively captured over half a million notes today, setting a new milestone for us at Voicenotes.

You can now add threads and attachments within the mobile app. Threads let you create multiple notes within a single note, and attachments allow you to add links and images directly into your notes.

You can now record audio on the web version of Voicenotes even when you're offline. The audio will be safely stored locally until you're back online. During this time, you can download or delete the audio. Once you're reconnected, the transcription will be automatically generated.

You can now use cmd+v to quickly paste images directly into your notes.

We've simplified the "Create" feature for a smoother experience. Now you can:

We've heard your requests for a Watch app, and we're excited to announce that it's now live in the latest version on the App Store! It's still in beta, but it's already pretty polished. Plus, Wear OS support is on the way—stay tuned!

Users can now fully manage their tags by editing, deleting, reordering, and renaming them. Customize your tag icons, pin favorite tags to the sidebar, and rearrange them to suit your workflow.

We've upgraded our AI responses to support the Markdown format. This change ensures that all responses, including to-dos and main points, retain their original formatting when copied.

We've redesigned our Thank You page! After upgrading, you'll be greeted with a fresh look, direct links to app downloads, and immediate access to the upgraded version.

We've added Threads! This new feature allows you to create subnotes beneath a primary note, making it easier to categorize and develop thoughts on similar subjects in one organized place. Ideal for in-depth exploration of connected concepts.

We've launched a reviews section on our landing page. It's a cozy little window packed with love from our users and inspiring stories on how they're making the most of Voicenotes.

We're excited to announce that Dark Mode is now available on Voicenotes! This highly requested feature is perfect for low-light environments and anyone who prefers a darker interface. We've also introduced an "Auto" mode to automatically adjust your display settings based on ambient light. Dark Mode will be available on our mobile apps soon.

In-app purchases are now available on our iOS and Android apps! You can now upgrade to Voicenotes believer plan or monthly plan directly within the app. This update makes it easier and faster to improve your experience without leaving the app.

Keyboard shortcuts are now live on Voicenotes.

Improved the note editor by adding support for paragraph formatting. Each new line entry is now correctly interpreted and displayed as a separate line, improving text readability and organization.

Voice-to-voice functionality is now available for all Voicenotes users. You can now speak your questions directly into the 'Ask my AI' feature and listen to responses from the AI assistant, all based on your personal notes.
