How to import files into Voicenotes

Voicenotes isn't just for recordings you make in the app. You can import existing audio files, PDFs, and documents, and Voicenotes will process them into notes - ready to search, ask AI about, and build on.

What file types can I import?

Voicenotes supports the following formats:

  • Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A

  • Documents: PDF, Markdown (.md)

The maximum file size is 50MB per file.

How to import a file

  1. Open Voicenotes and go to Import (accessible from the home screen or settings menu).

  2. Tap Import Files.

  3. Select the file or files you want to import from your device.

  4. Voicenotes will process each file and add it to your home screen as a note.

What happens after import?

Once imported, each file appears on your Home screen as a note, just like a recording you made in the app. From there you can:

  • Search through the content

  • Ask AI questions about it

  • Use Create to turn it into a summary, to-do list, email, or anything else

  • Share or export the content

Audio files are transcribed automatically. PDFs and markdown files are processed as text. Everything becomes part of your second brain - searchable and AI-ready, all in one place.
