Why this happens
If you subscribed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android), your payment is linked to the email address on your store account.
Sometimes, Apple and Google use a private relay email instead of your actual email. This means your subscription can be tied to a different email than your personal email you normally use to log into Voicenotes.
When you then log in with your personal email, the app may still show you as a free user.
This does not mean your payment failed, or that your money is lost. It simply means your purchase is connected to a different email.
How to fix it
To map your subscription to your personal Voicenotes account, please email us at [email protected] with:
Your personal email (the one you want to use for Voicenotes).
Your order ID from the App Store or Play Store.
Once we have this, we’ll map your purchase to your preferred account.
How to find your order ID
From the App Store (iOS)
Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Tap your Apple ID name at the top.
Select Media & Purchases > View Account.
Scroll down and tap Purchase History.
Find Voicenotes in the list and tap it to view the order details, including the order ID.
From the Play Store (Android)
Open the Google Play Store app.
Tap your profile icon in the top right.
Select Payments & subscriptions > Budget & order history.
Find your Voicenotes purchase in the list.
Tap it to view the details, including the order ID (it will look like GPA.XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXX).
Once you send us your order ID and email for Voicenotes, we’ll update your account. After that, your subscription will reflect in the app and you can unlock all the paid features.
It’s not a bug, and your payment hasn’t been lost - it’s simply a case of the purchase being tied to a different email. We’ll help you sort it out right away.
