How to create automations with tags in Voicenotes

In this article, you'll learn how to create automations with tags in Voicenotes.

Updated over a month ago

Automations with tags make it easy to turn your notes into actions. By adding a simple tag, you can trigger Voicenotes to automatically create outputs — whether that’s a summary, a to-do list, or another format you use often. This way, you don’t need to repeat the same steps every time.

How to set it up

  1. Create an automation

    • Go to Settings → Integrations and Automations.

    • Choose "Auto create"

    • Click "Get Started"

  2. Add multiple tags and choose a creation

    • Select the tag(s) you want to trigger the automation.

    • You can add multiple tags to one automation.

    • You can connect any default creation or custom prompts.

    • If you’ve saved custom prompts, they’ll all be listed here — and you can select which one you want to use.

  3. Trigger automations
Creations will generate automatically when the tags are added to notes, in either of two ways:

    • After recording: add a tag once you’ve finished recording, and the linked creation(s) will be generated.

    • During note generation: if tags are added while the note is being generated, the automation will run automatically. Add more keywords in the corresponding tags to auto-tag them.

Sample use cases

  • Add the tag #meeting + Meeting report→ Automatically create a meeting summary.

  • Add the tag #tasks + To-do list → Generate a to-do list creation.

  • Add the tag #blog + Your saved custom prompt → Run your custom blog post prompt to turn notes into a publish-ready draft.

Notes

  • Automations only run if the tags you use are linked to a creation.

  • You can edit or remove automations anytime from the Integrations and Automations section.
