Troubleshooting Voicenotes on Your Smartwatch

In this article, you'll find easy steps to diagnose and resolve common issues for both watchOS and WearOS devices.

Updated over a week ago

If you're experiencing issues with the Voicenotes app on your Apple Watch (watchOS) or Android smartwatch (WearOS), follow these common troubleshooting steps to resolve connectivity and login problems.

Common Issues:

  • Error message: "Please log in from the mobile app to continue."

  • Synchronization issues between watch and smartphone.

  • Watch app fails to open or crashes.

  • Watch app cutting off at 1 minute for subscribers (1 minute limit is for Free users and if you have an active subscription, this should not happen. If restarting doesn't fix this issue, email us at [email protected]—we got this!)

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Ensure Bluetooth Connectivity:

    • Verify Bluetooth is enabled on both your phone and smartwatch.

    • Make sure your devices are within Bluetooth range.

  2. Restart Apps:

    • Force-close the Voicenotes app on your smartwatch.

    • Force-close the Voicenotes app on your phone.

    • Reopen the phone app first, then the smartwatch app. Give it a few minutes for the watch app and phone app to communicate.

  3. Log Out and Log In:

    • On your phone, log out of the Voicenotes app.

    • Log back in on your phone, ensuring the session is active.

    • Open the smartwatch app again after logging in on your phone.

  4. Reinstall Voicenotes:

    • Uninstall and reinstall the Voicenotes app on your smartwatch.

    • Ensure the latest version is installed from the App Store or Google Play Store.

  5. Check App Permissions:

    • Verify that Voicenotes has required permissions on both your phone and smartwatch (Bluetooth, Notifications, etc.).
